HOW WILL THINGS CHANGE ON FACEBOOK FOR NON-PAID TO PAID MEMBERSHIPS?

We started removing individuals from the main UTAH WOMEN’S NETWORKING FACEBOOK PAGE 10.10.16. Access to this page will be exclusive to Community, Resource and Business Members. The newest individuals welcomed to the page will have until the end of the year (12.31.16) to sign up for a membership. From now on, someone new to the group will receive a six-month Trial Membership (minus a directory listing) and a VIP Pass to AN upcoming P.O.W.E.R. Session. See our benefits spreadsheet.

THERE WERE INTRODUCTORY RATES, WHEN DID THE PRICING CHANGE?

Introductory memberships were offered for $39, $69 and $99 per year. As of early November 2016, memberships increased to $59, $89 and $119 per year. As of November 2017, memberships were streamlined to have only two levels of individual membership and increased options for companies with employees that want to take advantage of our awesome training opportunities. Then in 2020, we simplified memberships to have only one type and cost for individual members of $99 (no more figuring out if you were community or business).

WHY SHOULD I START PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN FREE?
We have listened to member feedback and are adding benefits that will continue to make the UTWNG a valuable experience (a website, free P.O.W.E.R. sessions, access to a directory, an events calendar, hired a Development Coordinator, more opportunities to meet up with members and more).
WHAT WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE UTWNG MAIN FACEBOOK PAGE AND THE UTAH WNG BUSINESS RESOURCES PAGE?
The Main Page will be for Community, Resource and Business Members only. The UTWNG Resources Page will be open to UTWNG Members and others throughout Utah. All individuals on the page can comment on posts (as long as they have filled out a POSTING AGREEMENT). However, ONLY RESOURCE AND BUSINESS MEMBERS can promote their business, events they are hosting or are involved in, and create original posts. This will be the way non-members can stay connected with what is happening with current members, upcoming events, etc.
IF I CHOOSE NOT TO BE A MEMBER, WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND EVENTS?
Of course! You will continue to receive the UTWNG Newsletter with upcoming events. You can also access the calendar of events on our website. The only difference will be that from now on, there will be member and non-member rates for luncheons, P.O.W.E.R. events and conferences.
WEBSITE ISSUES? WHERE CAN I ASK QUESTIONS?

The main function of the website is to be a resource not a marketing tool. We created it to be a one-stop location for upcoming events, a directory of current members, and basic information about the UTWNG. We upgraded the hosting to improve the speed, but the directory and member logins can slow things down sometimes. Send any concerns or questions to webadmin@utwng.com. We want this to be a valuable tool for our members with options for increased event visibilty and improved search options for inbound links for our business member websites.

WHO SHOULD BE A NON-PROFIT MEMBER?

Individuals who represent a non-profit organization, don’t have anything to promote, want to give back to the community and want to stay active and build relationships through events and area connections fit best in this category. Contact us to see if you qualify for a discount code.

WHAT ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/RESOURCE MEMBERSHIP?

We have fully phased out this level of membership and simplified all the membership levels to avoid confusion.

WHO SHOULD BE A BUSINESS MEMBER?

A Business Membership is ideal for someone who is looking to maximize their access to the UTWNG. They will be active in Area Connection meetings, sponsoring luncheons and UTWNG Fundraising Events. They will attend P.O.W.E.R. Sessions and Round Table discussions with business owners who have things in common. They will appreciate having the first ability to sign up for Ambassador Luncheons, to be panelists for the P.O.W.E.R. events and the Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference. They will appreciate having a Directory Listing with images, links to their other marketing tools. And, they will like being able to post an event on the Website’s Member Calendar of Events.

WHAT IF I HAVEN'T OR CAN'T ATTEND EVENTS?

We are working on extending our reach of events through our Area/County Connectors. We will be hosting events in the morning and late afternoons during the last week of the month. Should you want to be a host and create a Connecting Group that better meets your schedule, please let us know. Paid Members are eligible to be an Area/County Connector.

WHAT'S UP WITH MORE RULES AND RESTRICTIONS ON FACEBOOK POSTS?
Actually, we haven’t increased the rules and restrictions. We have had a lot of new members lately and have diligently been working on explaining which page to post where. However, some of our long standing members have been pushing the boundaries and we have had to slap a few wrists here and there to remind them that any type of promotional post belongs on the Utah WNG Business Resources Page. We have hosted New Member Orientation Meetings and will continue to walk members through the benefits of the UTWNG as we move forward. The bottom line is, the UTWNG Pages are neither your personal pages nor your only marketing page. We are a resource. It is up to you to maximize your membership by coming to events, being engaged on the page, and asking members WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT THEM! That’s the true spirit of the UTWNG.

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES THE UTWNG FROM OTHER GROUPS?

You mean besides the quality of our events and the awesome food at our luncheons? The answer would be our dynamic and smart-ass ambassadors and our true passion to support our members personal and business growth. We have raised over $30,000 for local non-profits and small business grants for women.

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING NEW PLANNED IN THE UPCOMING YEAR WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

Yes, the WEC planning committee are already creating the agenda for the next annual Women’s Entrepreneurial conference. And Karin Palle, the UTWNG board members and the ambassadors have an awesome marketing plan to roll out for our business members. Stay tuned.

CAN I TRANSFER MY P.O.W.E.R. SESSION PASSES TO SOMEONE ELSE?
This is a tough one. For now… let’s say yes. If the transfer goes to someone who is a Community Member we will permit that once a year. If you are a Business Member, I am happy to provide you with up to four (4) passes for the year for non-members who have never attended a P.O.W.E.R. Session before. If you have questions or other suggestions, please let us know. Just remember that non-Business or non-Resource members can purchase P.O.W.E.R. sessions for $25 per person.
CAN I UPGRADE MY MEMBERSHIP?

You can upgrade from a business membership to a company membership, but all other membership levels have been simplified into one type. We have created an upgrade payment method for converting from individual to company membership on the website. If you have questions, please reach out to is at webadmin@utwng.com and we will help you update your directory listing.
